Jessie Mae Davis, affectionately known by her loved ones as "Coot," passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024, on the very day of her 86th birthday, in Charlotte, N.C. Born in Conway, S.C., on March 24, 1938, to the late Arthur and Viola Gagum Faulk, Jessie's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and joy that touched the hearts of everyone she met.

Growing up as a native of Conway, Jessie received her education in the Horry County School System, where she developed a love for learning and a spirit of resilience that would define her in the years to come. Her brother, John Faulk, remembers her as a beacon of light within their family, always ready with a warm smile and a helping hand.

Jessie's professional life was marked by her unwavering work ethic and her desire to serve others. She spent several years at Radiator Specialty, contributing to the community with her diligence and commitment. Her caring nature shone brightly in her work as a Home Health Aide, where she provided comfort and companionship to those in need. Jessie later became a beloved Housekeeper, a role she held until her well-deserved retirement. Through her various occupations, Jessie made lasting connections and left a legacy of kindness.

Her interests were as rich and varied as her personality. Jessie was an avid fisherwoman, often found by the water's edge, rod in hand, enjoying the serenity of nature. Her garden was a testament to her patience and skill, blossoming under her attentive care. In the kitchen, Jessie's culinary talents were the centerpiece of family gatherings, where her cooking brought joy and fulfillment to both her and her loved ones. Jessie also had a talent for sewing, creating beautiful pieces that were both practical and filled with love.

Those who knew Jessie would describe her as loving, kind, and funny. Her sense of humor was a gift that kept her family and friends laughing, and her warm, compassionate nature made her a confidant and friend to many. As Maya Angelou once said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Jessie is survived by her daughters Dorothy Butler (James) Charlotte,

N.C. ; Melvina Costley (Donnie), Baltimore, Md; Deborah Doster Gastonia, N.C. Sonya Davis - Pineville, N.C.; Maeoche Tigler (Curtis), Dallas, N.C. Sisters - Mary Friday, Laura F. Green, 11 Grandchildren, 9 Bonus Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, 1 Bonus Great Grand­ child, 5 Great Great Grandchildren, 18 Bonus Great Grands, and a host of relatives and friends.
