Obituary
Mrs. Rubielee Eulalieu Lawrence Addison

Mrs. Addison was born Rubielee Eulalieu Lawrence in Orangeburg, South Carolina on September 28, 1932 to Reverend Rufus Glenn Lawrence and his wife Bertha Lillian (Robinson) who died four months later. Rev. Lawrence then married Maude Haigler, a schoolteacher, while Rubielee was still quite young. Miss Maude became her “Momma” and raised her in love. There were eventually nine children in the Lawrence family. Mallalieu, Rufus Jr., Lillian, Amy, Dorothy, Rubielee, James Robert, Rayburne and Thomas. She met her husband, Clarence Addison, at a S. C. State College faculty mixer when he was hired to teach Architecture. They were married on December 23, 1961 by her father, Reverend Lawrence, at Trinity United Methodist Church, where he served as pastor.

Rubielee was active in many ways including participating in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the United Methodist Church, Claflin University, various community organizations, and she touched the lives of many as a teacher through the years. Rubielee is survived by her four children: Donna Michelle Addison of Acworth, Georgia, Clarence L. B. Addison, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, Maudré Rubye Addison of Charlotte, NC and Kristye (Mark) Dudley of Dayton, Ohio; her brother Rayburne Lawrence; and her beloved grandchildren Chelsea and Paige Addison, Nova (Song) and Rocco (Brooke) Misite, Kaleigh and Mark II Dudley and many nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, Mrs. Addison put her family and her faith first and any of us who were in her orbit have been blessed.
