Sarah "Twitty" (Louallen) Covington

Mrs. Sarah Louallen Covington affectionately called “Twitty” daughter of the late Robert Albert and Sarah Ruth Ingram Louallen was born March 27, 1946 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. Sarah attended the Chesterfield County Schools. She was a lifelong, faithful member of Piney Grove A.M.E. Zion Church where she served as a deaconess and whatever other capacities needed. Although her health had begun to fail she continued to support the church. She loved her church family. Sarah was employed in the poultry industry for many years. Sarah was married to the late John Louis Covington and this union was blessed with three children. Sarah was a devoted and caring mother who adored and was very instrumental in the rearing of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and her sisters have always been the mothers of all their nephews and nieces. She had a great sense of humor and a big heart. Sarah answered the Master’s call on April 3, 2020 in Atrium Health, Monroe, NC after a courageous battle with her illness. Her presence will be greatly missed but the love she shared with us will always be in our hearts. Sara leaves to cherish loving memories, her loving children, Billy (Sharon) Covington, Dennis (Diane) Covington, Lisa (Joey) Covington and  Elizabeth (Darryl) Melton, brother, Robert (Ethel) Louallen, sisters, Roberta Louallen and Daisy Louallen, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host of nephews nieces, cousins, other extended family and dear friends. Two brothers, Billy Ray Louallen and John Louallen, one sister, Lela Louallen, preceded her in death.
